2025 Marcel Boiteux Lecture: Prof. Carolyn Fischer (World Bank and Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam)

The S.E.R.G. would like to express our sincere gratitude to Professor Carolyn Fischer, the distinguished recipient of the award: Third Edition of the Marcel Boiteux Lecture at CentraleSupelec Université Paris-Saclay, for her exceptional generosity and the outstanding calibre of her address and scholarly contributions.

Expressions of gratitude are also extended to CentraleSupélec and its Fondation CentraleSupélec, as well as to the Association des Économistes de l'Energie.

After Professor Shmuel Oren in 2023 and Professor Paul Joskow in 2024, the Marcel Boiteux Lecture at CentraleSupélec will honour Carolyn Fischer in 2025. 
Senior fellow at Resources for the Future, Marie Skłodowska-Curie Fellow of the European Commission, Professor at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, Member of scientific councils in the energy sector, Lead Economist at the World Bank, Carolyn Fischer is one of the world's leading Climate economists : first female economist in the repec Environmental ranking, top 3 in Energy.

This prestigious event aims to celebrate outstanding achievements in the field of energy economics, and pays tribute to the former chairman of EDF. Marcel Boiteux, who taught economics at CentraleSupélec, made a significant contribution to internationally recognized scientific work, embodying the French tradition of economic engineering. His pioneering work laid the foundations for the economics of the electricity sector, and for research into carbon taxe.

The ceremony will took place on 8 April 2025 at 2pm on CentraleSupélec's Paris-Saclay campus.
