Sébastien Lepaul

Biography: Sébastien Lepaul was born in 1969 and, since 2023, he is a senior research associate at S.E.R.G. / CentraleSupélec.  

Sébastien Lepaul took his Master’s degree in non-linear analysis, numerical analysis, scientific computing and Ph.D. in physics at University Paris VI in France. 

He got a teaching company associate in Oxford (postdoctoral position) at Vector Fields Ldt. Since 1999, he is research engineer at EDF R&D. He was also associate research director in CNRS on finite element modelling for the applications. In 2013, he completed his tenure (HDR) both in physics and economics. 

He supervised 6 PhD theses and  is currently supervising 3 Ph.D. students.

Research Topics: Since 2007, his research interest is on optimization, game theory and commodities modelling. 

Before, his research was focused on finite element modelling for semiconductor devices design, electromagnetism and mechanics.

Teaching Activities: Energy Economics, Electricity markets, and Optimization.

Administrative Duties: In the mid-2000’s at Michelin leading a modelling team (30 people).
